1.1 NAME:

This organization is established as a not-for-profit board under the City of Buhler, Kansas and shall be known as the Buhler Economic Development Board.

1.2 PURPOSE:

The purpose of the board is to further the economic development of the City of Buhler, and its environs.

More specifically, the purpose of this board is as follows:

1) Promote the City's assets and other resources which will enhance desired economic growth;

2) To render assistance and encouragement to existing business and industries and promote on-going economic activities to ensure their continued operation and growth;

3) To identify, met and negotiate with potential new business and industries and other potential new business enterprises best suited to the resources of the City of Buhler;

4) To actively promote the City of Buhler, and specific business and industrial sites and buildings as locations suitable for new business and industry.

5) To encourage the development and implementation of a city-wide economic development plan, working in close liaison with the local city government, community organizations, and allied agencies to accomplish this objective.

1.3 OBJECTIVE:

The primary objective of the board shall be to benefit the City of Buhler area as measured by increased employment, payroll, business volume, and expanding local tax base, and corresponding factors rather than monetary profits for the not-for-profit corporation.
